Summer Family Fun

Best Summer Family Fun Activities:

It may only be April, but we sure are ready for summer to begin! Let us keep our spirits up by looking forward to some of the fun family activities we can get up to in a couple of months times (hopefully!). We've compiled a list of MUST-DO free and (almost free activities) that are bound to keep every member of the family happy all summer long.

Geocaching:

A fan of treasure hunts? Take it to the next level with the whole family participating in a real-life hunt using GPS or mobile devices to find secretly hidden "geocaches". A great opportunity for family fun and bonding, plenty of teachable moments (like learning how to read a map and more). Simply google and find a geocaching community in your community to get started!

Camping:

Do you miss nature as much as we do from all these cooping up indoors? Well, there's nothing a camping trip in the great outdoors wouldn't cure! With plenty of places you can camp for free, you are spoiled for choice. From board games, hiking, water activities and more - there's bound to be something for everyone in the family. It's one of our favorite choice when it comes to planning fun family activities!

Give back to society:

Want to take the summer break to teach your kids about compassion and responsibility while having fun doing so? Ask your kids to pick a cause close to their heart and work with them to organize a small charity drive or volunteer your time together at a related charity organization. Who says family fun and charity cannot go together? When done well, the kids will learn a lot more about the world, themselves and enjoy their experience too.

Visit a pick-your-own farm:

A fantastic opportunity to teach your kids where food comes from! It'll be great to help them appreciate the hard work and effort that goes into the food that they eat. Bonus, the whole family gets to pick their own ripe and fresh harvest direct from the source. Doesn't that just sound like the perfect summer family activity?

Museum Hopping:

Did you know that many museums offer free (or heavily discounted) admission for families? Sounds boring? Leave your preconceptions at the door! Many popular museums have upped their game -being both child-friendly and super interactive. Look for a museum that appeals to your family members - Do you have a budding scientist at home? An aspiring artist? Or a history buff? Also, make sure you check online before your outing. Many museums now also have resources for parents to download ahead of the trip to help engage the children. Get ready for an education and fun family activity!

Water Fight:

Last but not least, because it's summer we are definitely recommending a water fight - the perfect summer family activity. Set up for an ultimate water fight with the family with a variety of water related games! From dodgeball, catch, to all-out war, we bet the kids and the adults will have a blast!
